Windows 2008 R2 Antivirus
I have been using Eset NOD32 antivirus for a couple years. I am pretty happy with it on the desktop although it definitely misses things. Mostly spyware that I wish it would do better with but it's pretty lightweight. I have the management console installed and working and it runs just fine.
The problem I had was when I tried loading the antivirus on a server. I could have swore I already loaded the antivirus on the server itself, not just the administrator console but people were saying that they were getting virus warnings on their desktop that said there was a virus on their folder on the server.
So, I installed the eset antivirus on the server. I was having trouble getting it to remove the viruses that were already on the server (files in use etc) but the bigger issue I had was that every couple days or so, the server would just stop responding. I would have to do a cold shutdown as it wouldn't even respond to a remote shutdown command. So,I ended up having to remove the Eset antivirus software and it's been running fine again.
So, I am looking for antivirus recommendations to run on the server as Eset has not worked well for me.
