The book has two tables for the contents; the first one provides an alphabetical list of frequently encountered clinical signs and recognized diseases. The second table of contents (contents by subject) contains twenty entities. Those include an entity for each body system disease in addition to camelid and neonatal diseases, diagnostics, emerging animal diseases, immune function, management, milking systems, non-traditional species, nutritional diseases, parasitology, and toxicology. The text for each clinical sign, disease, or topic comprises six main headings (basics, diagnosis, treatment, medications, follow-up, and miscellaneous) and several sub-headings. This style is consistent, where applicable, throughout the book. The book concludes with two appendices about cleaning and disinfection, and client communication.
